Weatherization Assistance Program

TID CARES customers can participate in our Weatherization Program at no cost. The Weatherization Program can reduce energy bills by making your home more energy efﬁcient and lowering the amount of your TID bill while helping you keep warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

The Program

TID has partnered with Empire Specialties, a licensed contractor to install a variety of improvements for qualiﬁed customers, which could include some of the following:

Electric Water Heater Replacement, Water Heater Pipe Wrap, or an Insulating Blanket wrapped around your water heater to reduce heat loss and lower the amount of energy it uses.
Outlet & Switch Gaskets to help prevent air leaks, keeping warm air in during winter and cool air in during summer.
LED Bulbs that save energy and last 15 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
Exterior Weatherstripping and Caulking applied around doors and windows to keep out air, dirt, moisture and insects.
Replacing a Wall Air Conditioner with a more energy efﬁcient model to save money.
Energy Efﬁcient Refrigerators that may greatly reduce energy bill.*
Cost effective Ceiling Insulation.
Evaporative Cooler Covers that can be installed over cooler vents to stop cold air from entering in the winter.
Duct Sealing/Duct Wrap on heating and/or cooling ducts to reduce heat/cooling loss.
And other services which may include: Shade Screens, Window Repair or Replacement, HVAC Tune Up.

Program is subject to Terms & Conditions. Not all weatherization measures will be implemented. *Existing refrigerator must meet program requirements in order to qualify for replacement.

Eligibility

Weatherization improvements are free to TID CARES customers who own or rent their homes, apartments, or mobile homes and use electricity from TID. The service address shown on the application must be your primary residence. Renters qualify for weatherization, but the property owner must provide written permission to receive program services.
