Don Pedro Relicensing

For more than half a century, the Don Pedro Project has served some of the most productive farmland in the world. With affordable, reliable irrigation water, the Project directly supports the vibrant agricultural sector that has evolved since the Districts’ formation, while also providing municipal and industrial water supply, flood control storage, recreation, clean power, and fish and wildlife conservation benefits.

More information on Relicensing the Don Pedro Project is available at www.tiddonpedro.com.

By virtue of their historic sharing agreement based on acreage served within each district, TID’s share and interest in the Project amounts to 68.46 percent while the MID’s share is 31.54 percent. The current license expired in April 2016 and we are currently operating on a year-to-year renewal basis until a long-term license is granted by FERC. La Grange Licensing

Built in 1893 and generating power since 1924, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) determined in 2012 that the power plant at La Grange Dam is required to have a license under the Federal Power Act.

We’ve been generating clean, carbon-free and renewable power at La Grange since 1924 and are currently in the process of obtaining a license for the power plant. We anticipate the application to take several more years to complete.

Tuolumne River Management Plan

Together with Modesto Irrigation District, we’ve developed a comprehensive management plan for the River. The plan describes our proposed operations, improvements and resource protection measures under a new FERC license for the Don Pedro Project.
