Medical Rate Program

If you or another full-time resident in your home must regularly use a medical life-support device, or if your medical condition requires special heating or air conditioning in order to sustain life, you may qualify for our Medical Rate Assistance Program. The Medical Rate Assistance Program reduces the rate for the first 500 kilowatt hours of monthly energy use by 50 percent.

CPAP Machine

Examples of life support devices include but are not limited to:

  • Respirators
  • Hemodialysis machines
  • Suction machines
  • Pressure pads and pumps
  • Electrostatic and ultrasonic nebulizers
  • Aerosol tents
  • Electric nerve stimulators
  • Compressors
  • Motorized wheelchairs
  • Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB machines)

Devices used for therapy, rather than for life support, generally do not qualify.

  • Keep phone numbers of emergency response agencies (e.g. 911, hospital, fire department, police) in a convenient location, in the event emergency assistance is needed.
  • TID’s 24 hour emergency number is (209) 883-8301
